Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary to be elected Telangana Speaker, Padma Reddy likely to be deputy

His unanimous election will be declared on Tuesday as per norms

Hyderbad: Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary TRS MLA from Bhupalapally Assembly segment will be declared elected unopposed as the Speaker of the first Telangana Assembly on Tuesday. After Protem Speaker K. Jana Reddy issued election notification for the post on Monday, all nine parties  filed nominations on  behalf of Madhusudana Chary. His unanimous  election will be  declared on Tuesday as per norms.

After the  House adjourned for the day in the afternoon, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Dr J. Geetha Reddy (Congress), Erraballi Dayakara Rao (TD), Dr K. Laxman (BJP), Thati Venkateswarlu (YSR Congress), A. Indrakaran Reddy (BSP), Sunnam Rajaiah (CPM), Ravindra Naik (CPI) went to  Legislature Secretary Office and submitted the nomination to Secretary Raja Sadaram. Mr Chary was elected for second time from Bhupalapally Assembly segment in 2014 as TRS MLA and earlier elected from  Sayampet segment in 1994 as TD MLA.

TRS sources indicate Mrs Padma Devender Reddy, a second-time MLA is likely to be elected as the deputy Speaker.
