Hyderabad: Prestigious Medak Lok Sabha seat won by TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao by a whopping margin of 3.97 lakh votes, the highest margin in Telangana and Seemandhra, is now being sought by one and all.

Mr Rao, who won the LS seat as well as the Gajwel Assembly seat, will retain the Assembly seat and vacate the Medak Lok Sabha seat after being sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the new Telangana State on June 2.
Mr Rao defeated nearest Congress rival Shravan Kumar Reddy by a huge margin of 3,97,029 votes.

With the seat turning out to be a sure shot win for any TRS nominee, several names are doing the rounds in TRS circles for the bypoll in Medak LS constituency.
Prominent among the names include Nayani Narasimha Reddy, senior party leader and politburo member, K.V. Ramana Chary, retired IAS officer and presently politburo member,

Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, who lost in Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, Sathyanarayana (Sangareddy), TNGOs president Devi Prasad and Prof Kodandaram, the TJAC chairman, among others.

Though offered a ticket in the city, Mr Narasimha Reddy did not contest the polls and preferred a MLC seat in Governor’s quota. However, party sources do not rule out Mr Rao asking him to contest from Medak since he has been a very loyal to the party all through.

Dr Ramana Chary’s name is also in circulation for quite some time for an MP ticket, but he could not get it due to various reasons in the recently concluded polls. Being his native district, the retired IAS officer has thrown in the hat.

Prof Kodandaram and Mr Deviprasad have been offered Secunderabad Parliament and Assembly seat in Medak in the recent polls, but both politely turned down the offer of Mr Rao.
Busy with formation of the new government, Mr Rao reportedly have not zeroed in on any candidate so far.

The aspirants are increasing day by day as it is a sure shot winning seat since TRS is forming the government and the public mood is in TRS favour,” said a senior TRS leader to this correspondent.

Sangareddy ex-MLA Jagga Reddy, who contested on a Congress ticket and lost to TRS candidate Chinta Prabhakar, too is reportedly contemplating contesting the seat and has sought the support of actor Pawan Kalyan, it is learnt.
