Lucknow: After its stupendous success in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is now moving towards a giant kill in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, immediately after the formation of the Modi government at the Centre, the BJP will shift focus to Uttar Pradesh.

“Our immediate priority will be retaining the 12 seats in the state legislature that will fall vacant following the election of our legislators to the Lok Sabha. We will shortly start the process of short listing candidates and working on the organisational issues in these constituencies so that the party can win all the by-elections,” said state BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai.

The BJP believes that despite having sufficient numbers in the state Assembly, the Akhilesh government may not complete its term and polls in UP could be held earlier than expected.
