Cops nab truck thieves

Hyderabad: South Zone Task Force sleuths on Thursday arrested a gang of truck thieves who specialise in selling the dismantled parts of stolen trucks in the city. The gang has been involved in around 30 truck thefts in Maharashtra till date, the parts of which are sold in the city. Police officials said the gang of five used to steal trucks from cities in Maharashtra, bring them to Hyderabad, dismantle them and sell the parts through agents Mohammed Asifuddin and Ayub Khan.

The police recovered a stolen truck on Thursday while another was already dismantled. The arrested men told the police that they had stolen nearly 30 trucks from Nagpur, Amaravathi and Mumbai and used to drive them to Hyderabad to dismantle and sell their parts. The Hyderabad police will hand over the arrested men to their counterparts in Thane after recording of their statements and other.
