Poonam Pandey detained for indecency

Mumbai: Model and startlet Poonam Pandey was detained by the police in the Mira Road area in the early hours of Saturday on charges of indecency in public. She was, however, let off after a warning.

According to the police, a team of patrolling cops  spotted a couple sitting in a car near Shivar Garden on the Mira Bhayander Road. When they went to check it was found that the couple was behaving “indecently” inside the car. The woman was identified as Pandey.

The police objected to their indecent behavior, as their car was in a public place, and since it was a secluded spot, they could have also been harmed by anti-social elements.

A team escorted the model to the police station and informed her parents, while her male friend managed to escape from the spot.A police officer also raised objection over her “small clothes”. Ms Pandey was given a warning and after being booked under Section 110 and 117 of the Bombay Police Act, she was allowed to go.
