Visakhapatnam: As former minister Ganta Srinivas Rao didn’t show interest in contesting from either Anakapalle or Vizag Lok Sabha seats, he was given the Telugu Desam ticket to contest from Bheemili Assembly seat.

Two of his close aides, who joined TD along with him were denied renomination from the same Assembly seats.

Congress MLAs Muttamsetti Srinivaa Rao, Chintalapudi Venkata Ramaiah,  Panchakarla Ramesh Babu and U.V. Ramanamurthy Raju (Kannababu) joined the TD along with Ganta Srinivas Rao, last month at a public meeting  in the presence of party chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Bheemili sitting MLA Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao was named as the TD’s Anakapalle LS candidate. Congress MLAs Ch. Venkata Ramaiah  (Gajuwaka) and U.V. Ramanamurthy Raju (Yelamanchali), were denied  tickets.

Palla Srinivas and another Congress MLA, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, were  given tickets to contest from Gajuwaka and Yelamachali Assembly  seats. Barring Araku, Paderu and Vizag north, Naidu announced candidates  for all the Assembly seats in Vizag.

Meanwhile, Bheemili ticket aspirant, Raghuveer Sakuru’s wife, Aneeta Sakuru, who sought a TD LS ticket, will fight for Bheemili seat as an independent.
