Hyderabad: The new government in Telangana will face an uphill task over contentious issues like division of employees and sharing of water, among others.

TRS politburo member and retired senior IAS officer Dr K.V. Ramanachary, who was involved along with other IAS officers, intellectuals and party top brass in the drafting of the party manifesto under the supervision of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, made these observations. He dismissed criticism about the manifesto, asserting that it would accelerate development in the new state.

“We did a lot of homework. It was based on a plan and non plan budget of Rs 1 lakh crore which the party has envisaged in the new government, Central components and other funds,” he said.

Mr Ramanachary predicts that the new government would have a tough time in taking up reconstruction of the state while dealing with post bifurcation issues.

“We have an uphill task ahead. CMs of both the states will have to sit and sort out issues,” he said. Referring to KCR’s pet integrated KG to PG education for all, Dr Ramanachary put the cost at Rs 10,000 crore for a two year period.
