Nomination papers with ‘Telengana’ as state accepted

An independent candidate has mentioned his state as Telangana in his nomination papers

Hyderabad: Notwithstanding the Election Commission’s directive of considering Seemandhra and Telangana as one state in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, an independent candidate from the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency has mentioned his state as Telangana in his nomination papers.

Although the scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out on April 10 following th conclusion of nomination process, the returning officer has accepted the affidavit of K. Bhojraj, in which he has mentioned the name of state as Telangana.

Under the column ‘Parliamentary constituency and state’ Mr Bhojraj, a Kukatpally resident, has written “07 – Telangana.” The code of Malkajgiri constituency is 07.

Interestingly, in his affidavit filed with the Returning Officer, Mr Bhojraj has revealed nothing about his assets or liabilities stating he doesn’t have a PAN card.
