Blast kills couple at ex-MLA’s house

An elderly couple who worked at the residence of former MLA Madanmohan Reddy was killed when cooking gas cylinder exploded on Saturday

Rajampeta: An elderly couple who worked at the residence of former MLA Kasireddy Madanmohan Reddy was killed when the roof of the house collapsed due to a cooking gas cylinder explosion on Saturday.

According to police, the victims were identified as Poti Reddy, 65, and his wife Lakshmamma, 60. Poti Reddy was working as a cook in the house of Madanmohan.

The family of former MLA Madanmohan were not in the house when the blast took place. The explosion led to the collapse of the roof on the couple, who died instantly, police said.

The police are investigating as they could not establish how the explosion took place. The bomb squad and fire brigade inspected the site. They suspect leakage of gas could be the reason for the explosion.
