Hyderabad: Too many aspirants from various Assembly constituencies in the city are confusing voters.

With party leaderships delaying announcement of candidates, two to three aspirants from each constituency belonging to the same party, are approaching voters and seeking votes saying that they will be contesting from the constituency. Serious contenders are worried that the last minute announcements may be too late and more rebels might join the fray.

None of the major political parties like the Congress, Telugu Desam, BJP, TRS and YSRC have announced their list from 24 Assembly and five Parliamentary seats from the city and its surroundings.

Though the TRS announced Padma Rao’s name from Secunderabad on Friday, candidates for the remaining Assembly seats were not announced.

Meanwhile, aspirants and sitting MLAs have already started filing nominations before the parties announced their candidature. For example, former minister Mukesh Goud filed his nomination from the Goshamahal Assembly constituency on Friday.

As many as nine candidates applied from the BJP for the Secunderabad Assembly ticket and workers for these candidates have started seeking votes for their leaders.

In Khairatabad Assembly seat, four contestants from the BJP, two from the TDP, two from the Congress, three from the TRS and two from the YSRC are in touch with voters every day.
