Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Centre and Telangana Rastra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on a petition challenging the AP Reorganisation Bill 2014.

M.L. Sharma, an advocate of the Supreme Court, moved the petition terming the Centre’s action of passing the Bill illegal and unconstitutional. Contending that there were several flaws in adopting the Bill by the Centre, he urged the court to stay the Appointed Day (June 2).

While refusing to grant stay, the Apex Court ordered notices be issued to the respondents in the petition and directed the Registry to post the petition along with the pleas pending before it against the Reorganisation Bill.
