Hyderabad: In a bid to provide details of ensuing candidates for the upcoming elections, the Foundation for Advance Management of Elections (Fame) will soon put up background information of the candidates from Andhra Pradesh who will contest the Lok Sabha elections this time.

Along with their educational qualifications, the list will also have assets and liabilities, criminal records of the candidates and affidavits. “We will publish data of the total constituencies in eight phases. For the first phase, we have 30 constituencies and 84 for the second. Though we are working on the database, AP will be in the seventh or the eighth phase as the elections are in April last.

The format will however be same for the state as well,” said K.J. Rao, general secretary of Fame and former advisor to the Election Commission of India. “The whole idea is to help people become a more effective part of democracy. We have received a good response from North-East and UP, where we have uploaded candidate details,” he added.

Retired Election Commission officials came together for the formation of Fame. KJ Rao, a Hyderabadi, has been a part of Fame since its inception.
