Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF on Wednesday launched its web portal, www.udf.org.in as well as mobile app where the details of all UDF candidates and the manifesto  have been uploaded. A hot debates section which will cover the opinions and responses of UDF leaders to the major election issues was also uploaded by the KPCC’s IT cell team led by techie Ranjith Balan.

Though the UDF has been a step behind in launching a  website compared to the BJP, it has  bounced back to garner  netizens’ support. Videos of candidates have been uploaded from  YouTube. According to Mr. Balan, the IT cell team consisting of six permanent staffers is based at the KPCC office.

“There are different sections on the website, Hot Debates, UDF Election Watch, Election Watch along with articles and news reports on the  campaign. Apart from the website, we have also launched mobile application for smart phone users through which it is easy to communicate the government’s achievements and party information,”  said Mr. Balan.

While Chief Minister Oommen Chandy launched the  web portal, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala launched  the mobile app.
