Samantha denies rumours

This is the recent rumour about Samantha that’s being floated in K’town! That the pretty face was the first choice of ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam for his upcoming bilingual in Tamil and Telugu which has an ensemble cast of Akkineni Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Aishwarya Rai and Shruti Haasan.

Reportedly, inside sources from Tollywood say that for some reason, Mahesh Babu was not keen on bringing Sam on board despite having acted with the demure beauty and delivered blockbusters. Hence, it was said that Mani opted for Shruti.

It may be recalled though that Samantha bagged Kadal, the earlier project of the Roja director; she had to be replaced by Thulasi on health grounds. Now, when Mani is on the verge of commencing his next project, sources said that he wanted to offer the role to Samantha, who is now fighting fit, having left her skin problems behind, and become the most sought after girl in T’town and Kollywoode.

However, when Sam was in the city for a day for the shoot of a commercial, she rubbished it as a baseless rumour. “No, no one from Mani Ratnam sir’s office approached me for his next film.”

It is common knowledge that the maverick filmmaker keeps his cards close to his chest when it comes to revealing anything about his films and his new film is no different! Mani has not made any official announcement.
