Safran plans MRO in India

Safran Group is thinking of starting a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in India

Hyderabad: Safran Group, an aerospace, defence and security solutions firm, is thinking of starting a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in India.
“We want to do more business in India. We are looking at setting up an MRO facility but at this point we can give no details on how the firm plans to do it,” Christophe Poulain, VP of commercial strategy of Safran Group said.


The group, a partner with CFM, which is the largest manufacturer of jet engines, has over six decade long relationship with India. It currently operates with nearly nine customers in India and CFM accounts for over 400 CFM engines and nearly 1500 Turbomeca helicopter engines which are mostly used in the Pawan Hans copters.
