Aamir Khan was seen performing a lot of daredevil stunts in Dhoom3. While many were computer generated or done by a body double, the actor did go the extra mile to perform the underwater stunts on his own.

Recently, Shah Rukh and Boman Irani too have shot an underwater sequence for their upcoming film, Happy New Year. The same team, Underwater Film Services, have been roped in to shoot the scenes.
Before Aamir, makers of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara too shot an extensive underwater scuba diving scenes, an intrinsic part of the script.
The film got a lot of appreciation for its execution of the stunts that kept the audience glued throughout the film.
In his earlier interviews, Aamir has admitted of having no knowledge about swimming.
A team of 4-5 professional divers were also under water, constantly ensuring Aamir's safety while he pulled off this daredevil stunt.
The entire shoot took about 15 days to complete not before Aamir Khan ensured that his director, Victor, had achieved what he wanted.
This difficult stunt was performed by Aamir in a pool in Mulund. It wasn't an easy shoot to do as he had to go through several hours of underwater training before going on the sets.
Aamir had also done some basic underwater stunts in Talaash which was shot in a pool in the outskirts of the city with Anees supervising the entire sequence.
He has been trained by professional scuba diver, Anees Adenwala who runs Orca Dive Club in Mumbai. Anees also owns Underwater Film Service, a company which specializes in shooting these challenging sequences.
