The shooting of Ithihasa, the directorial debut by Binu S., starring Shine Tom Chacko and Anusree, is nearly complete. The young director who started his career as a photographer said the journey so far has been amazing.

“Even though I started out as a photographer, movies were always on my mind. I had been hunting for a good story. My debut venture was supposed to be a movie with Unni Mukundan and he had agreed to the role after hearing the story.”

“However, I came across the story of Ithihasa at the time and seeing that this was a smaller movie, I decided to test the waters first with this project. The work for the Unni Mukundan movie will begin soon after the completion of this film,” said Binu.

Ithihasa revolves around the lives of two thieves, Shine Tom Chacko and Balu Varghese and an IT professional, Anusree. The movie is a comedy flick with elements of fantasy.

“The whole fun starts once Shine and Anusree switch bodies because of a magical ring that was used by the Kings in ancient times. Everybody had fun watching our lead actors getting into the character as they were required to manage two different get ups in the movie.”

“Even though we have seen a lot of male stars appearing in female avatars, Shine has given a completely different feel to the role. Such a project has not been tried out in Malayalam films yet,” added Binu.

However, the most impressive element about the shooting according to Binu is the fight scenes. “Anusree has done all her action sequences without a body-double. Even though she had no formal training, she did the fight scenes exceptionally well, even our stunt master, Run Ravi, was surprised by her performance,” added Binu.
