Kannada film industry bandh today

Bangalore: Various actors, directors and pro-Kannada associations have exte­nded their support to the bandh called by the Kannada film industry on Monday to oppose the dubbing of other language films to Kannada. A rally, led by actor Shiva­rajkumar, will be taken out from SBM Circle to Central Coll­ege where a convention will be held.

Addressing a press conference, actor Shivara­jkumar said, “I urge Kannadigas to understand the intensity of the situation and support us. Since my father’s (Rajk­umar) days, we have opposed dubbing. We hope our protest tomorrow will mark the end of dubbing.”

Veteran actors like Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran, Jaggesh and others were present during the occasion.
