APNGOs burn copies of T draft Bill in Bhogi fire

Anantapur: APNGOs association celebrated Bhogi festival by burning the papers of AP State Reorganisation Bill-2013 at the fire of  Bhogi in all parts of the region on Monday following the call given by the APNGO’s association state committee to mark protest against introducing state Reorganisation Bill in the Assembly.

Anantapur district NGO association organised Bhogi fire near RDO office on Monday. The association leaders set fire to the Bill papers in the fire raising slogans against state division process.

District unit president Devaraj, speaking on the occasion alleged that UPA government had taken unilateral decision to split the state though people of Seemandhra were protesting against it.

The state division would have adverse impact on the Rayalaseema region which is already suffering with many problems pertaining to irrigation sources and industrial development, he observed and called up on the NGOs, all political parties and Joint Action Committees to make success bandh on January 17 and 18 across the Seemandhra region.

Similarly, NGO’s association and Visalandhra activists set on fire the AP Reorganisation Bill-2013 at Kurnool city and all parts of mandal headquarters.

T Bill copies were also burnt in Bhogi fire in Kadapa district. The district associations of NGOs are inviting the leaders of all political parties and organisations to take part in the protests to intensify agitation till the UPA government reverses its decision.
