Kozhikode: K.K. Rema, wife of slain RMP chief T.P. Chandrasekharan, has submitted a memorandum to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala demanding a CBI inquiry into the larger conspiracy behind the  murder.

She handed over the  memorandum to Chennithala at his office in Thiruvananthapuram two days back, it is learnt.  The RMP leadership has been demanding  a high-level probe into the  conspiracy behind the murder  that happened on  May 4, 2012. Former Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had promised to investigate it but only after  the verdict in the ongoing  case was pronounced.

Rema told DC that the memorandum demanded  immediate steps to probe the larger conspiracy,  the existence of which had been confirmed by many, including the investigating officials.

There were no legal or procedural hurdles for investigating the  conspiracy, she said. “I suspect that the CBI investigation was kept on hold due to a deal between the CPM and the Congress,”  Rema said.

The special additional district and sessions court (Marad cases) at Eranhippalam will pronounce the verdict in the  case on January 22.
