Convener of Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Errabelli Dayakar Rao and IT minister Ponnala Laxmaiah got embroiled.

Hyderabad: Convener of Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Errabelli Dayakar Rao and IT minister Ponnala Laxmaiah got embroiled in a spat in front of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in the latter’s chambers in the Assembly on Thursday.

TD MLAs had gone to the Chief Minister’s peshi to discuss the Raidurgam gaming park land dispute and to ask for justice for the original land allottees. Even as Rao was discussing the issue with the Chief Minister, Laxmaiah, who hails from Rao’s native Warangal district and is at loggerheads with him, entered the peshi, making Rao upset. A furious Rao used choicest epithets against Laxmaiah and called him a broker.

The Chief Minister intervened and tried to pacify an angry Rao and also promised to do justice to the original land allottees.

The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone for the 30-acre Gaming, Animation, Media and Entertainment (Game) park amid protests from some private realtors including My Home’s Rameshwar Rao who had claimed that they had purchased the said land from the government in an open action in 2007.

The realtors had alleged that Laxmaiah had misled the Chief Minister in taking up the project despite knowing that it was private land. TRS legislators, led by T. Harish Rao, also staged a protest.

Laxmaiah, meanwhile, refuted the allegations of Rao and said that it had come to his notice on Wednesday and he would take necessary action in this regard.
