After the buzz that 'Sholay 3D' has created, the makers of the film, Jayantilal Gada and the Sippy brothers, have got two more scripts to invest in under the same franchise. They feel the recall value of brand Sholay is so high that it can be easily converted into a franchise.

Our source says, “The makers have received two scripts — a prequel and a sequel. The prequel would delve into the making of Jai and Veeru. And the sequel will explore newer escapades. However, the makers are yet to read both the scripts and decide which story would be more interesting for the audience.”

Confirming the buzz, Jayantilal Gada says, “We have received the scripts and we believe there is a lot of equity in Sholay. We will consider converting this into a franchise soon.” Once they manage to zero in on a script, the makers will start the casting process. The new cast will obviously include a bunch of actors from the younger generation, in order to keep the appeal fresh. Talks are on but as of now, they are concentrating on the release of Sholay 3D which is slated for January 3.
