268 passengers suffer Air India flight delay in Chennai

Chennai: Technical snag delayed an Air India aircraft to Singapore leaving 268 passengers stranded on Monday at the Chennai airport.

According to airport sources, the passengers had boarded and the flight was set for take off at 14.00 hrs, when flight captain identified a technical snag during the pre-flight check.

The air traffic control was informed and the passengers were offloaded. Initially, the passengers were informed that the fault would be rectified and travel would resume.

As time passed by and since there was no progress, a few passengers got into an argument with the crew and airline officials.

They were promised that the flight would take off at 2200 hrs.

However, the snag could not be fixed and the passengers were accommodated in city hotels, airport sources said and added that their travel has been postponed to Tuesday.
