Two new trains commence run

Visakhapatnam: Union minister of state for commerce and industry and local MP?D. Purandeswari claimed that she has been pursuing for a new railway zone  with Vizag as headquarters since long with both the railway board and the concerned ministry.

Addressing newspersons after flagging off two weekly express trains from Visakhapatnam to Jodhpur and Gandhi-dham here on Tuesday, she hoped that the new zone would be a reality as the railway ministry is contemplating to create new zones across the country.  She also added that there is a need to fight for the new zone, in the event of state bifurcation.

Purandeswari also said that two trains, Visakhapatnam-Tata-nagar and Vizag-Kollam which are currently being run as special trains would be run as regular weekly express trains from the first week of January, 2014 and first week of February, 2014 respectively.  Divisional  railway manager Anil Kumar was present.
