Vijayawada: A large number of Bhavanis visited the Kanakadurga temple on Tuesday, the second day of Bhavani deeksha conclusion. The devotees, who reached the city from far off places were seen making Giri pradakshina in the early morning and waiting in queue at the Vinayaka temple.

After performing Giri pradakshina, the Bhavanis visited the temple and offered prayers to the presiding deity. Later they reached Homagundam to conclude their mandala deeksha. The vicinity of temple resonated with slogans of “Jai Durga Bhavani”.

However, the Bhavanis making Giri pradakshina faced hardships with the presence of potholes on the road around the Indrakeeladri hill. Though the district officials asked the municipal officials to repair the roads, they failed to patch the roads at several places. The potholes left Bhavanis, walking barefoot during Giri pradakshina, wincing at times.

Meanwhile, the lack of  mobile toilets at several places during Giri pradakshina was acutely felt by the the devotees. Due to the absence of mobile toilets, many of devotees are forced to utilise the open places, causing inconvenience to the residents.

Satyanarayana of Eluru, a Bhavani devotee, said that the temple officials should make arrangements for the convenience of devotees as large number of Bhavanis visit the temple from far off places. The Bhavanis are forced to sleep in the open at night time, he said.
