A very thin Sanjay Dutt made his first “official appearance” since his parole from prison in Mumbai.

Many controversies surround him for being given a parole several times because of his ‘star’ status. In October this year, Dutt had availed of 15 days’ leave of furlough, and extended it further by another fortnight on medical grounds.

Denying the charges of favouritism, the actor chose to explain why he was granted parole — especially because he had been on furlough, or long leave, earlier.

The actor said that he had “panicked”, when he heard news about wife Maanayata’s ill health. Several media reports had claimed that it was a tumour. But the actual “condition” is still being examined.
Sanjay said that his fears stemmed from the fact that he had lost close family members to cancer.

“I lost my mother Nargis and my first wife Richa (Sharma) to cancer. Naturally, I worry if I hear that a close family member has taken ill. I want everyone to pray for her good health,” the actor said at the press conference.
