Kozhikode: The police team, investigating the five key accused in the TPC murder who are imprisoned in Kozhikode district jail and were accessing their facebook accounts and were also using mobile phones inside the prison, have abandoned the idea of draining out the septic tank and biogas plant inside the jail premises due to practical difficulties.

The biogas plant has over 10 tonne of cow dung and water and it would not be easy to drain out, said N Biswas, the Kasaba circle inspector in-charge of the investigation.

Biswas said that the probe team will seek the assistance of the company which set up the biogas plant to trace any mobile handset in the plant.

The probe team explored the possibility of emptying out the septic tanks and biogas plants following the recovery of a mobile handset from the pipeline leading to the septic tank on Friday.  However, they had to give up the idea.
