Hyderabad: The chill is back in the city. Hyderabad recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4º Celsius on Saturday marking the lowest so far this season.

Meteorologists predicted that the mercury will dip over the next few days, and could fall to 8ºC. The Indian Meteorological Department said that by Wednesday, the mercury would dip to 10ºC in Hyderabad.

The city’s outskirts were colder than areas inside with Hakimpet recording a minimum of 11.9ºC.

Meteorologists said the dip is common due to the northeasterly winds blowing over the region.

“Temperatures dip during this time due to the cold and dry northeasterly winds. The humidity in the city is also coming down as moisture due to the last cyclone has subsided,” an IMD official said.
