Yercaud: Just a day is left for the political parties to campaign for their respective party candidates. District Collector K Maharabhushanam has declared that the campaign will end at 5 pm on Monday, December 2, and those from other districts should leave the Yercaud constituency immediately. The campaign picked up pace further over the weekend. Samatthuva Makkal Katchi founder president Sarathkumar also got busy campaigning for P Saroja of AIADMK.

On the other hand, DMK’s MK Stalin, while garnering votes for the party candidate V Maran, was heard speaking out against AIADMK general secretary and Chief minister J Jayalalithaa for avoiding the people in the Yercaud hills during her visit to the constituency.

“The constituency is named Yercaud because of the hills, but AIADMK party leader did not care to come to the hills,” said Stalin.  Stalin would leave Yercaud on Monday evening, ending his four-day campaign in the constituency.

The Collector also warned that those who linger after 5 pm on Monday and fail to leave the constituency would be removed by police.
