Mumbai: A spot boy was on Saturday arrested from central Mumbai in connection with stalking and trespassing at actor Shruti Haasan's house in suburban Bandra, police said.

The accused, identified as Ashok Shankar Trimukhe (45), was arrested from Dharavi area, Assistant Police Commissioner Shivaji Kolekar told PTI. "He is a spot boy in Film City," Kolekar said.

The accused claimed that he had gone to Haasan's residence to seek job for his brother, but before he could say anything, the actor got scared and banged the door, police said. The accused also claimed that he had no intention to scare her.

According to the Bandra police, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning about 9.30 AM when Shruti, the daughter of noted actor Kamal Haasan, answered the door bell of her sixth floor apartment in a building at Bandra. The 27-year-old actress was confronted by Trimukhe, who allegedly tried to barge into the apartment. He questioned the actor as to why she was not recognising him.

"The accused had even put his hand on the shoulder of the actor. Although rattled, the actor managed to push the man away and locked the door," a police officer had said.

The accused was booked under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 452 (house-trespass alter preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 345 (wrongful confinement).
