Born in Tenali in Guntur district in January 1957, AVS started his career as a journalist in a Telugu daily but later shifted to films. His 1993 debut movie Pellam directed by Bapu fetched him the Nandi Award and several other awards followed.
AVS was one of the stalwarts of Telugu cinema with more than 500 films to his credit over a 19-year-long career. He was one of the most admired comedy actors in Tollywood. Picture shows well-known Tollywood producer Allu Arvind paying tribute to AVS.
