Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police arrested two autorickshaw drivers for allegedly stalking, kidnapping, and gang-raping a 15-year-old minor girl after keeping her blindfolded and confined at their residence.
Police identified the arrested accused as Mohammed Ahmed and Mohammed Aslam. They duo allegedly intercepted her while she was walking back home from work and tried to win her trust by offering to drop her safely at her residence.
When the minor resisted, the accused allegedly forced her into their autorickshaw. To prevent the victim from identifying them or mapping the route, they blindfolded her before driving her to their house, where they held her captive and subjected her to sexual assault, police said. Following a complaint lodged by the victim's parents, the local police swung into action to apprehend the perpetrators.
Police have registered cases under the Pocso Act and the BNS sections for kidnapping and gang-rape. Police send the victim for specialised counselling by Bharosa Centre teams and recording of her statement. The accused were produced before a local court which remanded them to judicial custody. Chandranyangutta station house officer A. Ravinder said.
