Pathankot terror attack: Pakistan traces numbers
One of the numbers belongs to attacker's mother.
Islamabad: Pakistan is scrutinising two Pakistani cellphone numbers given by India that were allegedly used by the attackers of the Pathankot airbase, officials said on Saturday.
India had earlier provided the two cellphone numbers to authorities in Pakistan with the claim that the attackers of Pathankot airbase called from the Indian city to the numbers but no clues were available with the authorities in India about what transpired.
The numbers — 03000597212 and 03017775253 — are both switched off. The first number most probably belongs to the mother of one of the attackers while the second belongs to one of the handlers of the terrorists. The agencies here are looking into details of the evidence and trying to ascertain veracity of it, an official said. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already ordered investigations into the New Delhi leads regarding the Pathankot attack.
