Congress to move Supreme Court on reservations

Danam Nagender said the party would move Supreme Court over the issue.

Hyderabad: The Congress has threatened to move Supreme Court against the unscientific and irrational reservation of divisions in GHMC elections. All Opposition parties have cried foul alleging that the reservations were determined to suit the electoral needs of ruling TRS and its ally, the MIM.

TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and city Congress president Danam Nagender said the party would move Supreme Court over the issue.

They said the TRS government has failed to mend its way even after High Court ruling on Thursday asking it to give adequate time to all parties to file objections over election process.

BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy said the release of notification within two hours after announcement of reservations showed the conspiracy of the government to deprive the Opposition parties of any option, even moving a court.
