Failure in love allegedly drove the contract employee of JNTU to suicide.
Hyderabad: Failure in love allegedly drove a 28-year-old contract employee of JNTU to suicide. T. Aparna, a native of Anantapur, was in love with her colleague Mr S. Harinath for more than two years and took this step after coming to know that he had got engaged to another girl. Police has registered a case of abetment to suicide. Aparna, a native of Guntakal in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, had completed her MCA from Anantapur. A few months back, she shifted to Hyderabad in search of a job.
She was working as a trainee supporter at an outsourcing firm Infoplus at JNTU Hyderabad and was staying at Vasundhara Women’s hostel at Dharmareddy colony in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony. Police said that Aparna and Mr Harinath were classmates during their MCA. They fell in love and were planning to marry.
Mr Harinath, also a native of Guntakal, was working for Infoplus for more than a year. Two months ago, he informed Aparna about a job vacancy and referred her for the post.
Their relationship continued after she shifted to Hyderabad. However, a few days ago, Mr Harinath got engaged to another girl as per his parents’ wish. Aparna came to know of this and went into depression.
On Thursday night after supper, she locked herself in her room. “One of her friends knocked on the door and called her on her mobile, but she did not respond. They thought she was sleeping. On Friday morning, they broke open the door and found her hanging by a chunni from the ceiling,” said KPHB sub-inspector Mr Mahesh. Based on a complaint from her father Mr T. Venkataramana, a case of abetment to suicide (306 IPC) has been registered against Mr Harinath.
