Chhavi Pandey of Silsila Pyaar Ka talks to us about her new role and dealing with a demanding mother-in-law —on screen.
How different is your character of Kajal from your previous shows?
Kajal is a strong girl who knows the difference between right and wrong. She loves this boy Raunak and also has respect for his mother, Janki Tiwari. Kajal is upfront, yet maintains the respect and love that is between a son and mother. In my previous shows I have played a bechari girl, but here I play a girl who will fight for what is right.
You are a classical singer. What do you love more —acting or singing?
Singing is my first love. Then comes acting.
Will we see an album release from your end soon?
Not soon, but I am already in talks with some people for it. The planning phase is on but it will take some time. I do not wish to do anything in haste. Once I establish myself as an actor I will venture into singing and music completely. One thing is for sure—whenever I release my album, the music and the composition will be my sister Rashmi Pandey. Music runs through our veins.
How would you react if you had an over possessive mother-in-law like Janki Tiwari?
I would try to change her thinking in a positive way. I would also talk to my husband regarding it and try to resolve the matter in a peaceful manner.
Are you dating anyone? Who’s your ideal man?
I am very much single and happy. My guy needs to honest and caring-that’s it. I am not looking for anything beyond that.
