Bejoy Nambiar reduced to a mere puppet on the sets of Wazir?

The director was so traumatised that he wanted to walk out of the film.

Even as Wazir runs to mixed reviews in the theatres, reliable sources tell us that the director, Bejoy Nambiar, had no joy in its making. While producer and co-writer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Bejoy have been giving combined interviews to promote Wazir, things were far from hunky-dory between the two while the film was being shot. In fact, say our sources, Bejoy was so traumatised by the experience that at one point, he just wanted to walk out of Wazir with his head held high.

“It was because of VVC’s interfering ways. He just wouldn’t let Bejoy make the film his way. Vinod was on the sets every single day and he called the shots. Bejoy was reduced to a mere puppet on the sets. Even when Bejoy directed a scene, VVC would come and change the composition, lighting or whatever.”

Bejoy’s supporters are now wondering why Chopra even roped him in to direct the film in the first place. “If he was so enamoured with his script, he should have just directed it himself? Why bring Bejoy in and then reduce the director of films like Shaitaan and David to a dummy?”
