Leaked: Samsung Galaxy S7 specs, prices, launch date revealed
If reports are to be believed, a leaked information has revealed details about the Korean tech giant Samsung’s next flagship smartphones. The leak reveals that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge handsets to the public as early as February 2016. The leak has also revealed the display size and a few other specifications and prices of the two handsets.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will feature a 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch display respectively. The handsets will be available in both 32GB and 64GB variants, but these smartphones will also have two additional unique features. An expandable storage (micro SD card slot) and a waterproof and dustproof body are on the plates. The information comes from reliable sources in the supply chain close to SamMobile, who also revealed that the prices for the two S7 32GB and 64GB smartphones will range around 700 Euros and 780 Euros respectively. The S7 edge is reported to be priced at 800 Euros and 880 Euros respectively.
Earlier reports stated that Samsung was to scrap the idea of a plus (Galaxy S7 edge+) size and increase the display size of the edge variant to 5.5-inches. If true, we shall see only two models ahead of us—Samsung Galaxy S7 (5.1-inch) and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (5.5-inch).
Other earlier reports mentioned that Samsung would be dropping the camera sensor MP count to 12MP from the recent 16MP. Though the 12MP would seem like an unwelcomed move, Samsung seems to be pretty excited about the new 12MP sensor which they believe to be superior to the recent 16MP variants. It would be sporting an f/1.7 aperture to offer better low-light photos.
Samsung is speculated to launch the S7 flagship handsets earlier than usual and the dates are believed to be set for February 21, 2016, ahead of the MWC 2016.
