The man was arrested on Wednesday for links with an al-Qaeda.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday said that Anzar Shah, who was arrested for having alleged links with the al-Qaeda, was a 'facilitator' involved in sending a recruit abroad for training.

Interrogation of the two revealed startling facts, on the basis of these facts we arrested Anzar Shah from Bengaluru," Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Arvind Deep told ANI.

"We produced him in the court yesterday and he will be in police remand till January 20. His main role was that of a facilitator. His main involvement was to send one Umar Hyderabadi abroad for training," he added.

He was subsequently produced in a Delhi Court on Thursday which sent him to police custody till January 20.
The Special Cell had in December last year arrested two AQIS operatives Zafar Masood and Abdul Rehman. Reportedly, Shah’s name popped up during their interrogation.
Another terrorist in custody, Mohammed Asif, the recruitment and training head of AQIS, had also confessed to meeting Shah at a religious congregation in Bengaluru, sources said.
According to sources, Shah had reactivated himself to provide logistical support when contacted by the AQIS operatives.
The Special Cell also has the details of financial transaction between them and Shah, the source added.
