Universities’ told to disburse study centre staff salaries
The bench ordered both registrars to prepare lists of working and retired employees of both universities’ centres.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Registrars of BR Ambedkar Open University and Potti Sriramulu Telugu University to take steps to pay the salaries of the staff working in the varsities’ study centres located in Andhra Pradesh.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a taken-up case based on news reports that 92 regional centres of the varsity in Andhra Pradesh were closed due to the reluctance of the Telangana state government to extend services to them.
The bench ordered both registrars to prepare lists of working and retired employees of both universities’ centres in AP and send them to the AP higher education secretary who would release the salary every month.
