Raipur: Former CM Ajit Jogi’s son Amit, a first time MLA, was on Wednesday expelled from Congress for six years for “bringing disrepute and causing damage to the party” by “fixing” the 2014 Antagarh Assembly bypolls in Chhattisgarh along with his father. Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC), which met here in the afternoon, also recommended the AICC leadership to show the senior Jogi the door for the same reason.
“Chhattisgarh Congress has decided to expel former chief minister Ajit Jogi and his son Amit for tarnishing image of the party as well as murdering democracy by fixing the byelection to the Antagarh Assembly constituency in 2014, as revealed in an audio tape surfaced recently.
