- Pininterest, the social discovery platform, has become really popular after it was launched back in 2010. After an initial funding of $5 billion, the project managed to double its valuation, which now stands at $11 billion.
- SpaceX founded by Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla and Paypal. The initiative was taken by Musk to make space travel feasible and affordable. The California-based company has an overall valuation of $12 billion.
- Flipkart is undoubtedly the highest prized e-commerce start-up in India with a valuation of $15 billion. Since its initiation in 2007, the company has garnered a lot of support and has become one of the favorite e-shopping destination for netizens.
- Snapchat, the instant photo/video-messaging app, has prospered a lot during its four years of existence. Currently valued at $16 billion, the company initially received $1.2 billion from investors.
- Xiaomi is the world’s fourth largest smartphone manufacturer and is expanding rapidly. It was also one of the most valuable start-ups at one point of time, but has slipped to second place with a current valuation of $46 billion.
- Uber, the car-hailing app, is the most valuable start-up in the world and currently operates in 67 countries all around the globe. After receiving an initial funding of $7 billion, the company’s value now stands at $51 billion!
