Hyderabad: Vital organs of a 17-year-old youth who died with an accident during New Year festivities were donated by his parents. K. Harish met with an accident while returning home.
K. Harish of Mahbubnagar, the only son of daily wage workers Triupathiah and Ramanamaa, was returning home after a New Year party. He was rushed to the Yashoda Hospital, where he was declared brain dead on January 3.
His parents donated Harish’s two kidneys and liver to the government-run Jeevandaan scheme.
In another incident, 48-year-old G. Padma suffered from severe headache and was rushed to a nearby hospital in Nalgonda where she became unconscious.
The family rushed her to Aware Global Hospitals at LB Nagar and was diagnosed with severe brain stroke. She was declared brain dead on January 2. Her family donated her two corneas, two kidney’s and a liver to the Jeevandaan scheme.
