Oscar asks why vital paper was not tabled
OSCAR is the community formed by SCB residents against road closures.
Hyderabad: OSCAR, the community formed by SCB residents against road closures by the Army, has asked the principal director of defence estates, South-ern Command, to inquire why a letter sent by the ministry of defence on January 7 last year was not placed at the SCB board meet.
According to OSCAR, the letter said that local military authority has no authority to close roads. Section 258 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 says that no street shall be closed for reasons other than security and without giving public notice and inviting objections and suggestions, it said. OSCAR wanted action taken for the letter not being placed at the meeting.
