Hyderabad: A container truck travelling with a load of biscuits caught fire when it hit the ramp near a toll plaza on Saturday midnight. According to Toopran police, the container truck (HR 61A 4061) was going from Haryana to Nagpur. The truck was approaching the toll plaza on National Highway 7 at about 11 pm on Saturday, at Annapur village in Toopran mandal. The driver was speeding and did not notice the ramp and rammed into it.
“The diesel tank of the truck hit the ramp and sparks rose due to the friction. This caused the fire,” said Toopran sub-inspector N. Venkatesh. The driver and helper suffered injuries and were admitted to hospital. A case of rash driving under IPC Section 279 was registered against the driver.
