The shooting of Shankar’s magnum opus 2.0 (Endhiran 2) starring superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and others commenced recently in the city. Seems like the team is trying to retain some of the technicians who worked for the prequel Endhiran, which released in 2010. AR Rahman, who worked in the first project, has been roped in to score music for this film too, which is expected to hit the screens in 2017. Yet another Oscar award winner, sound designer Resul Pookutty is the latest addition to the movie. The technician who had worked for Endhiran was a part of Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan too.
An excited Resul who was in Chennai on Sunday morning to discuss about the project with Shankar had tweeted, “In Chennai, one of my favourite city... After the floods everything looks calm, initial meeting with @shankarshanmugh for #endhiran2.” After a narration of more than four hours by the director, Resul confirmed his inclusion in the project, and officially announced the same. “#Chitty here I’m with you for the 2.0 version! Excited by your sheer vision and power @shankarshanmugh #Endhiran2.0.”
