State hockey body is planning to organise a hockey tournament for both men’s and women’s in the second week of Feb.

State body Telangana Hockey, which recently got its affiliation as an associate member from Hockey India, is planning to organise a hockey tournament for both men’s and women’s in the second week of February in Karimnagar.
Top players from the tournament — both men’s and women’s — will be selected to represent the state in the senior and junior categories at the Nationals. Speaking on the sidelines of an event general secretary N. Mukesh Kumar, former Indian hockey captain, said, “Telangana Hockey wants to change the mind set of young hockey players. Players mostly set sights on participating in the Nationals but we want them to play for the country.”
