Azharuddin plans world-class cricket academy at Maulana Azad National Urdu University
Hyderabad: MANUU chancellor Zafar Sareshwala said former cricketer Mohd Azharuddin had shown interest in starting a world-class cricket academy at the university and would be submitting a proposal. He was replying to a question following speculation that Azharuddin would be joining the BJP, after the two spent some time together at the university on Saturday.

Planning to tie up with Turkey: V-C
MANUU chancellor Zafar Sareshwala, a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that anyone, including former cricketer Mohd Azharuddin who was interested in the development of MANUU was welcome.
Mr Sareshwala also said that MANUU was planning to tie up with Mevlana University, Konya, in Turkey. Representatives from the Turkish university visited MANUU on Saturday and also showed interest to start a course on Turkish studies.
Mr Mohd. Azharuddin had won a Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh in 2009. In the 2014 general elections, he contested on a Congress ticket from Tonk -Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan but lost to the BJP candidate.
