Narayana unit: GHMC faulted

The petitioners told the court that the college was sealed twice by the GHMC.

Hyderabad: Expressing dismay that the GHMC was standing by when court orders are being violated by the management of a private educational institution, Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy of the Hyderabad High Court has directed the civic authorities file a status report on the Narayana group being allowed to run a unit at DD Colony.

The judge was dealing with a petition filed by the colony’s residents association challenging the action of the GHMC in allowing the school management to run the institute in a residential zone without permission.

The petitioners told the court that the college was sealed twice by the GHMC. A single judge of the High Court had earlier ordered the GHMC to restrain the management from running the school in the area.

Meanwhie, parents of students in the institute moved court seeking permission to run the school at the same premises.
