200 acres for race course on outskirts
Hyderabad: The Cabinet meeting began at 11 am and the ministers broke for lunch for two hours in between before it ended past 10.30 pm after which Mr Rao addressed the media.
The CM reiterated that Malakpet Race Course would be shifted to the outskirts where 200 acres will be allotted and the government will takeover the 130 acres to set up educational institutions. Thanchalguda jail will also be shifted in the due course.
* The Cabinet decided to regularise services of 18,000 contract employees. The salaries of outsourcing employees have been raised from Rs 6,700 to Rs 12,000, from Rs 8,400 to Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,900 to Rs 17,000.
* In a relief to barbers, hair cutting alons were moved to domestic category up to 200 units. This will benefit 18,000 saloons.
* Traffic police to get an additional 30 per cent pollution allowance over their basic pay.
* A special policy to protect street hawkers/ footpath vendors from police/ official harassment has been approved.
* Cabinet approved filling of 15,628 teacher posts, including 1,225 Urdu medium posts.
* Minority welfare department to be strengthened with allocation of independent staff in each district with Rs 80 crore.
* 30 each residential schools for minority boys and girls from June 2016.
